DOES YOUR FAITH WORK? JAMES 2:14-26

Oct 6, 2024    Pastor Matt Haywood

This past week has been a doozy! It’s been a week that has been full of ministry and I’m so proud of how our church family has come together to help one another and those in the community by being the hands and feet of Christ.

Sometimes being the church is more important than being in the church. That shouldn’t be an excuse for us to miss when we have the ability to be here, but it does mean that we should not just attend church and not serve the Lord.

I have been encouraged this week as churches have partnered together to help get food, supplies, and help to those who need it without regard to whether the people are members of their church or not. I encourage us to continue.

We should not just be the church when natural disasters strike. We should be the church all the time.

This morning, I want to ask you if you have a faith that works. Now, as I ask that question, don’t misunderstand me or the point of our text this morning. Faith alone is what is required for us to be saved. No one gets to heaven by good works.

However, we do want to take a look at how faith works this morning, so turn with me to James 2.
